Coral Gables

With it’s Mediterranean Revival Style, Coral Gables is one of the most beautiful communities in the Miami area. Developed by George E. Merrick during the 1920′s land boom, this downtown commercial district was originally designed to be four blocks wide so that every business is less than a two block walk from each other, making Coral Gables one of the most pedestrian-friendly areas in the US.

Early on in it’s life in 1925, Coral Gables was selected as the home of the University of Miami, and has since enjoyed a youthful culture ever since with 27% of the population being between the ages of 25 and 44. In addition to the University of Miami, Coral Gables also features the headquarters of Bacardi, Capital Bank Financial, and offices of American Airlines, Intelsat, ExxonMobil, and more.

The Coral Gables area is also home to several consulates of foreign nations, including Barbados, Columbia, El Salvador, Italy, Spain, and the Principal of Monaco.
